Pok Oi Hospital received donation from Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) to send 2,100 anti-pandemic care packs to grassroots | To solve immediate needs and fight against the pandemic

The severe fifth wave of the pandemic in Hong Kong has led to tens of thousands of confirmed cases in the past few days, and the livelihood of the people has been greatly affected. In order to help the grassroots community to fight the pandemic and reduce their financial burden, Pok Oi Hospital has received a generous donation from Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) ("Zurich Hong Kong") of HKD238,000 to purchase 2,100 anti-pandemic care packs, consisting of rapid test kits, hand sanitizers, food staples, etc. The packs will be distributed to families in need through various family and elderly service units under Pok Oi Hospital, hoping to assist the vulnerable with prompt and consistent supplies, services and economic support to overcome the pandemic together.

Pok Oi Hospital received donation from Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) for sending 2,100 anti-pandemic care packs to grassroots to solve their immediate needs and fight against the pandemic.

 

Dr. Jim Lee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital, sincerely thanked Zurich Hong Kong for its generous donation: "During this critical time of the pandemic in Hong Kong, grassroots citizens are the first to be directly affected in a significant manner, and are under unprecedented pressure. Zurich Hong Kong's timely assistance has greatly alleviated the urgent needs and pressures of the underprivileged.”

Mr. Eric Hui, CEO of Zurich Hong Kong, said: "Under the fifth wave of the pandemic, there is a sharp increase in demand for self-testing, and the general public are also facing difficulties in sourcing daily supplies. The life of the grassroots has become even more difficult. Zurich Hong Kong has always been committed to caring for the community, and we firmly believe that physical and mental health is indispensable for community development. Therefore, we proactively cooperate with Pok Oi Hospital to bring assistance and warmth to families in need, and sincerely hope that all sectors of the community will help each other to overcome the pandemic together.”

Dr. Jim Lee, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pok Oi Hospital, appealed to citizens from all walks of life to donate and support the various anti-pandemic work of Pok Oi Hospital, so as to solve the urgent needs of the public. Dr. Li emphasized that the staff at Pok Oi Hospital will stay committed in their roles to help all sectors of society and the vulnerable in response to the pandemic.
