Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong) (“Zurich Hong Kong”) announced today the launch of the new “ClinicGo” Outpatient Medical and Dental Care Plan. The new plan allows customers to, according to their needs and finances, purchase the Outpatient Medical Benefit and the Dental Benefit separately or bundled together. With three plan levels for the Outpatient Medical Benefit and two plan levels for the Dental Benefit, the total of 11 plan combinations offers great flexibility that enhances a customer’s overall health and wellness experience.

COVID-19 has brought the importance of personal hygiene to the forefront and has had a positive impact on the city’s health culture. The public is more willing to seek medical attention and treatment once illness strikes. Nevertheless, the waiting time for the city’s public hospitals outpatient clinics is lengthy. For those that could afford or have a safety net such as group medical insurance, more options are available outside of the public healthcare system.

Private doctors are certainly convenient, but the consultation and medicine fees could easily run from a few hundred to a thousand dollars, and may be a burden to those who need to bear the full expenditure out-of-pocket. To address this protection gap, Zurich Hong Kong introduces “ClinicGo” especially for those without group medical protection, such as children, students, the elderly, retirees, freelancers, self-employed persons, and part-time employees—to provide them with a flexible, affordable, and diversified outpatient and dental protection plan to cope with medical expenses arising from general practitioner consultation, specialist consultation, physiotherapy, Chinese medicine, bone setting, X-ray & laboratory tests, to dental care services.

Jim Qin, Chief Executive Officer, General Insurance, of Zurich Insurance (Hong Kong), said “According to the ‘Shaping a brighter future of work: Global and local market insights’ study, produced jointly by Zurich Insurance Group and the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford2, in the face of issues such as insufficient income and lack of medical care during the pandemic, the public has become more attuned to their protection needs. As some of the city’s customer segments still lack basic medical protection, Zurich Hong Kong has launched ‘ClinicGo’, which flexibly combines outpatient and dental protections in a competitive package, to safeguard a customer’s health.”
