Can I claim for the following situations?

  • Flight rearrangement/cancellation - If your scheduled flight has been cancelled without any rearrangements by airline due to adverse weather (e.g. T8/Black Rainstorm signal)* in Hong Kong, you can make a claim of the costs of flight rearrangement after the airport or airline official announced your original flight cancellation together with the cancellation and refund report issued by the airline, the itinerary and receipt of the scheduled flight and the information of new flight.
  • Re-routing cost due to travel delay (e.g. flight re-routing fee) - If your number of delayed hours meets the minimum required hours (e.g. six hours*), you can make a claim under the travel delay section. If your insurance plan covers for extra re-routing costs due to travel delay, upon providing the receipt of the additional travel ticket costs incurred, the original ticket and boarding pass for actual boarding, we will pay for the actual additional re-routing expenses paid, subject to the maximum benefit limit as stated in the Table of Benefits of the policy. We will pay for additional overseas hotel costs that were borne by you; expenses incurred in overseas hotel accommodation arrangements provided by airline companies will not be covered*
  • Unused travel fare and accommodation expenses caused by travel delay - If there are unused travel fare and accommodation expenses due to trip curtailment and early return to Hong Kong which is caused by adverse weather conditions in the planned destination, you can make a claim for any unused and unrecoverable but paid fees, including travel tickets and accommodation fees.* However, if the above incident(s) happened due to adverse weather conditions in Hong Kong but not the planned destination of the insured journey, there is no coverage of such expenses or additional travel and accommodation expenses incurred.
  • Window glass damaged at home/shop - Take photos and secure all available evidence in respect of the loss e.g. damaged glass at home/shop. If there is another insurance policy covering the same loss or damage, provide a copy of the full set of the policy to us.

*Policy terms and conditions apply.
