    In general, when the claims settlement amount is smaller than the amount written on the policy i.e. paragraph 20(a), our Insured can still entitle the NCD during policy renewal. However, for claims which involved TP property damages or recovery, the NCD may be resumed after the next renewal since those cases normally take at least 1-2 years to determine the settlement amount.

    For example:

    Repair costs and expenses (e.g. surveyor fee) = $54,000

    Excess = $5,000 Policy paragraph 20(a) = $50,000

    Zurich’s settlement amount: $54,000 - $5,000 = $49,000
